Storyline

A young woman remembers the time when as a little girl she witnessed her father getting killed by cult members. She is then adopted by a society of assassins and trained for many years to become a ballerina, body guard and assassin. She performs well in all these activities to the satisfaction of her superiors. Her heart however is made up to seek vengeance against the killers of her father. Despite being warned not to take up this dangerous mission she goes ahead and single handedly wages war against them.

Story: 

Following the murder of her father, Eve Macarro (Ana de Armas) is trained to be an assassin by criminal organisation Ruska Roma. Once on field, she goes rogue in pursuit of the man who destroyed her family. To achieve that, she needs to fight his entire tribe on her own.Ballerina  Review:

Hollywood has generated a spade of female-led badass babe-action thrillers. Angelina Jolie in Salt and Wanted, Scarlett Johansson starrer Black Widow, Jennifer Lawrence in Red Sparrow, Linda Hamilton in Terminator, the examples are plenty. What sets Ballerina apart, beyond its terrific action choreography, is its casting. 

Ana de Armas’ Eve is fierce yet feminine. She’s hardened by life but not bereft of emotion. The softness of her past isn’t eroded by the brutalities of her present. She kills like an assassin but empathises like a woman--she fights like a girl. Director Len Wiseman creates a distinct lead that doesn’t aspire to be a John Wick and Ana de Armas’ casting is a cherry on top. The actress blends pulsating action and vulnerability flawlessly. She is one woman army who only trusts her instincts.

A spin-off stemming from a formulaic origin story, the real dance in Ballerina is the spectacular action set pieces that play out at a lightning speed. Whether it’s a deadly hand-to-hand combat or guns, knives, sword, flame-throwers, fire extinguishers or virtually any weapon within an arm’s reach, the film has it covered. There’s a little humour too, but the film stays rooted in its no nonsense-action origin. Two action scenes in particular are outstanding and amp up the drama.

G20  Review:

 ‘G20’ is a ludicrous yet entertaining film built around an absurd premise. It’s the kind of film where nothing is meant to be taken seriously—the only aim is to have a good time. Viola Davis, no stranger to intense, high-concept roles, seems to have signed on purely for fun, and it shows. As US President, she shoots, fights, and juggles her role as a devoted mother and wife. Amid all the global political posturing, there’s plenty of action involving powerful world leaders caught in the chaos. If you go in expecting little and are willing to suspend disbelief, you might just enjoy the sheer silliness of it all.The story revolves around President Danielle Sutton (Viola Davis) as she heads to Cape Town, South Africa, for the G20 summit. Her agenda is to push a proposal that aims to tackle world hunger by offering digital banking solutions to poor African farmers. Opposing her is Rutledge (Antony Starr), a former Australian military man turned private contractor, who sees this as an attempt by global leaders to expand their financial control. Advocating for cryptocurrency as an alternative, he stages a coup at the summit with help from insiders. Most world leaders are taken hostage, except those from the US, UK, China, and Turkey, who manage to escape. What unfolds is a high-stakes cat-and-mouse game led by Danielle and her trusted Secret Service agent, Manny (Ramon Rodriguez), as they try to foil Rutledge’s plan.‘G20’ tries to reinvent the ‘Die Hard’ template with a modern-day twist, incorporating buzzwords like crypto, AI deepfakes, and economic reform—but these themes are handled only at a surface level. The film is packed with clichés, and Rutledge’s core ideology, while provocative, lacks real substance. Still, the film works in flashes. Danielle’s relationship with her daughter adds some emotional grounding, evolving from strained to tender. The action scenes are staged with flair and provide the kind of thrill the genre demands.Viola Davis commands the screen as Danielle Sutton, embodying a battle-hardened president with conviction and just the right amount of swagger. While the screenplay limits her potential, she still manages to deliver a strong performance. Antony Starr is effective as the ruthless antagonist Rutledge—he's cold, calculated, and convincingly brutal. But it’s Ramon Rodriguez as Manny who truly shines. As the agent assigned to protect the president, he brings heart and intensity, transitioning smoothly from easy-going sidekick to determined protector once the stakes rise.

“The studio was born out of both creative necessity and practical limitations,” Kiragandur explains. “We scoured Karnataka for a facility that could house an elaborate palace set with intricate interiors, but none met our requirements in terms of scale or infrastructure. What began as one studio floor quickly expanded into a full-fledged facility.”

The investment proved strategic beyond mere logistics. “Building our own studio allowed us complete creative control, streamlined production timelines, reduced travel costs — and most importantly — gave our director, Rishab Shetty the peace of mind to realize his vision uncompromised. It became a catalyst for the film’s authenticity.”

That authenticity extends to the film’s core themes, which dig deeper into the spiritual and mythological elements that resonated so powerfully in the original. “The spiritual resonance of the first film was a guiding force as we shaped ‘Chapter 1,'” Kiragandur notes. “The audience’s response to ‘Kantara’ gave us clarity — we knew we had to honor that legacy with focused storytelling.”

While remaining modest about specific production moments that crystallized the film’s exceptional scope, Kiragandur expresses confidence that audiences will recognize the achievement. “There have been several moments, but we’ll let the film speak for itself. Storyline

Sanjay Rajkot (Salman Khan), the generous and courageous king of Rajkot, is fondly known as Sikandar or Raja

by his people. His clash with a powerful minister (Sathyaraj) leads to the tragic death of his beloved wife, Saisri (Rashmika Mandanna). Before passing away, she donates her organs to three individuals in Mumbai. In a ruthless attempt to erase her memory and break Sanjay’s spirit, the minister targets the recipients—a young boy from the Dharavi slums who receives her lungs, a CA topper whose dreams are stifled by her orthodox father-in-law and receives her eyes, and a college girl heartbroken in love and also with a weak heart. 

The film follows Sanjay’s journey as he protects them from harm while helping transform their lives.A Salman Khan movie is a genre in itself, and you know what to expect—gravity-defying action, larger-than-life heroism, and punchy dialogues. Written and directed by A Murugadoss, this actioner checks all these boxes but suffers from an underwhelming plot and cliched narrative. Sikandar is the expected righteous, brave, and invincible figure typical of both the genre and a Salman Khan massive Eid release. He saves 6,000 Dharavi residents by arranging their treatment, empowers a homemaker (Kajal Agarwal), and helps a lost in love college girl. Amid all this, he battles the minister’s henchmen.The predictable storyline is paired with a generic background score by Santhosh Narayanan. 

Kevin Kumar’s action direction is limited, with no jaw-dropping, extraordinary stunts to impress you. The few action sequences feel repetitive, with slow-motion shots, flying goons, and exploding cars.Salman Khan drives the film with his signature star power. He strives to deliver an emotional, action-packed performance, but the sluggish narrative holds him back, while throwing in some over-the-top dialogues like, “Ab insaaf ki nahi, inhe saaf karne ki zaroorat hai.” Rashmika Mandanna has a few scenes and some songs, but the problem is not that. Overall, she has a strong screen presence but doesn’t have much to perform or elevate the scenes she appears in. 

Vatsan Chakravarthi plays a corrupt cop and fits the role well. The surprise element is Sharman Joshi as Salman’s loyal aide—he holds his own opposite the superstar, delivering a restrained and impactful act.The story and the narrative are the biggest letdown of this larger-than-life movie; even if they are trying to draw in die-hard Salman Khan fans, we wish they had taken the action notches higher. A few standout punches and stunts here and there could have probably salvaged this one.

Storyline

Hari Hara Veera Mallu Review:

The movie starts off excellently, with an extraordinary first half and a power-packed, serious interval that sets the tone with real intent. The second half maintains the momentum, keeping the suspense alive right until the climax, while smartly holding back the core of the story and the major excitement for Part 2. At no point do you feel bored-the narrative is gripping throughout. Unlike routine commercial films, this one relies not only on the lead actor's presence but also conveys meaningful messages, especially through the touching and emotional pre-climax portions involving the little kid.but pathetic part is lead actor him selves conveys his roles at times gives the feel the elevations fall from heights.

Being a period drama, it delivers great entertainment and feels completely "paisa vasool," thanks to its blend of action, strong star cast, and Pawan Kalyan's charisma. At 50+, his energy in stunts, fights, and powerful screen presence truly stand out as one of the film's biggest assets.

The CG and graphics look impressive only if you watch in a good 4K or luxury theatre-regular theatres might not give the same visual appeal (based on personal experience).

Highlights: Engaging screenplay, Pawan Kalyan's commanding presence, Nidhhi Agerwal's glamour, Bobby Deol's strong performance, and the support cast including Sunil, Brahmaji, Raghu Babu, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Nazar, and many others.

Scene-wise : the intro sequences, action blocks, and climax deserve special mention.

Negatives: The CG could have been executed much better. Enhancing it to the next level would have required an additional Rs300 crores in budget, making it comparable to massive productions like Baahubali-which isn't practical here. The trimmed version of the film removes some of the weakest CG parts, but a few poor edits still remain.. Specifically : the bow-and-arrow scenes, horse-riding portions, and interaction with the fox,water droplets cg effects looks too poor.

Pushpa 2: The Rule Review:

Director Sukumar’s brilliance shines through in Pushpa 2: The Rule. He masterfully balances a mass entertainer with a film rich in social commentary, weaving layers emotion, action, and intrigue into a compelling cinematic experience. Despite the extensive runtime of 3 hours and 20 minutes, the film keeps its audience riveted with a mix of high-octane sequences, character-driven moments, and a poignant emotional arc.

Sukumar doesn’t just focus on the grandeur of action; he incorporates subtle humour through the quirks and mannerisms of the characters, whether it’s Pushpa Raj, Banwar Singh Shekhawat, or the supporting cast. Each character has a distinct identity that enriches the story. Even when the film seems to linger towards the end, the emotional payoff in the climax redeems it, providing satisfying closure to Pushpa’s internal and external conflicts.

Allu Arjun ascends to a new echelon of his career with a transcendent performance. He is firmly in a "god zone," surpassing expectations and cementing his status as a force to reckon with in Indian cinema. The Jathara sequence is a landmark moment in his career, bound to be celebrated for years to come. Every aspect of his performance during this sequence—his physicality, emotional depth, and sheer energy—is awe-inspiring. The choreography, visuals, and editing amplify the impact of his performance, creating a euphoric high for audiences. In Pushpa 2, Allu Arjun proves yet again that he is not just a star but an artiste who redefines the boundaries of performance.

Rashmika Mandanna shines as Srivalli, moving beyond the archetype of a supportive partner. She becomes Pushpa’s emotional anchor, adding layers of resilience and warmth to the narrative. Her chemistry with Pushpa Raj captivates, and their peppy number Peelings is thoroughly entertaining, showcasing their dancing skills.

Fahadh Faasil is chillingly entertaining as Banwar Singh Shekhawat. His understated menace and simmering quest for respect create palpable tension in every scene he inhabits. As a formidable antagonist, he matches Allu Arjun’s intensity with a performance that commands attention.

Rao Ramesh and Jagapathi Babu bring depth to their roles as political leaders, adding intrigue and complexity to the narrative. The supporting cast, including Sunil, Anasuya Bharadwaj, Saurabh Sachdeva, Tarak Ponnappa, Jagadeesh Prathap Bandari, Brahmaji, Ajay, Kalpa Latha, Pavani Karanam, Sritej and Divi Vadthya, ensures the world of Pushpa remains immersive.

The film’s technical excellence is remarkable and a step up from the first instalment. Mirosław Kuba Brożek’s cinematography vividly captures the vibrant chaos of the forest, the intensity of the action, and the emotional nuances of quieter moments. Scene transitions are seamless, and the framing of shots is exquisite. Devi Sri Prasad’s music elevates the narrative, with tracks like Sooseki and Kissiki blending into the storytelling. The background score complements the film’s tone, while the action choreography balances grit and grandeur, offering a visual treat.

Though the film has its flaws—like, a not-so-strong story and over-the-top action sequences—its smart screenplay, brilliant performances, and top-notch production values overshadow these drawbacks.

Pushpa 2: The Rule is a sequel that surpasses its predecessor in scale, storytelling, and emotional depth. Sukumar’s vision, combined with Allu Arjun’s powerhouse performance, layered narrative, breathtaking visuals, and stellar ensemble cast, makes it a cinematic triumph that demands to be experienced on the big screen.

2. Comedy & Timing:
   The humor in the film is its strongest suit. Sivakarthikeyan shines in his role as the scientist, and his chemistry with the alien adds to the charm of the film. There are moments that are genuinely funny and light-hearted, making it easy for the audience to connect with the story.

3. Sivakarthikeyan’s Performance:

   While the movie begins with a fresh concept, the narrative becomes predictable as it moves forward. The whole "alien tries to understand human life" angle is explored in several movies, and here it feels like it doesn't bring anything new to the table. The storyline could have done more to keep the mystery and tension alive.

2. Pacing Issues:
   The first half of the film is engaging, but the latter half starts to drag a bit. Some of the scenes feel stretched out, and certain subplots don’t really add much to the core narrative. The movie could’ve been more tightly edited to maintain the pace.

3. Villain/Antagonist:
   The antagonist’s motivations feel weak and underdeveloped. In a film like this, where the alien is essentially the central character, having a strong human adversary would’ve created a much-needed balance, but unfortunately, the human villain feels like an afterthought.
